Some of the commonly found units of measurement for liquids are ounces, liters, pints, quarts, and gallons. Although it may seem confusing, I have a simple chart for you. And, we will discuss in detail gallons to ounces and other liquid measures in this post.
How do both systems work?

The usual liquid measuring systems in the U.S. and the U.K. take liquids by volume and divide them into four parts. However, the most significant difference in the calculation. While the U.S. measuring system says a gallon is 128 ounces, the U.K. system defines a gallon as 160 ounces. Now, there's a big difference here. Although both systems use gallons, ounces, pints, and quarts, they use different volume measurements. To summarize this, the U.K. gallon is approximately 20% larger than the U.S. gallon.

The standard U.S. framework considers a gallon as the imperial unit of liquid volume. While liters and milliliters are expected in the U.K. and Europe, here in the U.S., the measurement is in gallons. In the usual U.S. context, gallons can be liquid or dry and are distinguished by their size and imperial structure. When used in liquid, the abbreviation for gallon is always "gal."
